I was diagnosed in 2010, PSA only 3.8, Gleason 7 (3+4). Had Robotic Surgery at Addenbrookes and PSA undetectable since. I used to be in the UK Prostate Cancer Charity Forum but everyone seems to have left! Best wishes all, Daniel.
Hi Daniel,
Interesting to hear your brief story.
I have only recently been diagnosed and joined this great forum.
I'm getting to the point of deciding whether to have the robot surgery or therapies so I would be interested in your robotic experience and any after op symptoms that you may have had.
You can see my story so far on my profile.
Cheers, Grampy
Hi Grampy, Robitic surgery was a great decision but the most important thing is to get recommendations to particular hospitals and surgeons. Addenbrooks is one of the best and there are a few others. It’s worth traveling believe me! You don’t want a surgeon who’s only done a few! There’s a risk of incontinence or damaging nerves unnecessarily if they don’t get it right. I considered all other options but Robotic came top. You can have radiotherapy after surgery if needed but not the other way round. Happy to Zoom if you want a chat. Stay positive, you’ll be fine. Daniel
