Hi all,

I’ve recently been diagnosed with stage 4 prostate cancer - T4 N1 M1b - has spread to a lymph node beyond pelvis and there’s a lesion on T8 of the spine.

Started off with four week course of Bicalutamide with Zoladex 3.6 implant after first two weeks.  Just had second implant of Zoladex 10.8.  GP going to switch me to Prostap when I have next implant.

Starting Enzalutamide as well next week as recommended by Oncologist.  Wants to hit it hard early.

Only side effects so far are hot flushes, interrupted sleep and a bit emotional now and then - but expecting a few more issues once on the Enzalutamide.

Thanks,

Brian

  • Hi Brian - Welcome to the club!! How strange I am a Brian M - I thought I was the only one!!

Well I can only help with the hot flushes - sage tablets have reduced mine from 2 hours to 5 minuets each. I think in this club we all tend to be emotional!! I know I can cry for England.

I wish you well on your journey and hope you find all you need on here - if not just ask - there are plenty of people here with more knowledge than me.

    Kind Regards - Brian.

  • Hi Brian

The Prostap will make you fatigued, your stamina levels will drop so cutting the lawn will be an ordeal and your muscles will weaken. As for libido - nil.

My CNS recommended exercise to help with the strength and stamina loss. So, whilst it's probably fair to say you won't feel like it, try and keep up any exercise regime you had before PC. Anything you can do now will help longterm.

  • Hi Brian,

Thanks for that, will get some sage tablets and give them a shot Blush

    Thanks,

  • Hi Stuart,

Thanks for the info - will be prepared and try and keep reasonably fit - cold weather not helping at the moment but at least I’ve got the hot flushes to warm me up Slight smile

    Thanks,
