Hi all ,new to this group
My Name is Gary
Diagnosed 4 weeks ago before biopsy which was done last week
I have metastatic bone cancer in my pelvis, spine and ribs.
PSA 3 weeks ago was 4402 !
Hormone therapy started , Biclatumide tablets and Zoladex injection every 3 months
Massive PSA and I have oncology appointments next Tuesday to tell me life expectancy and treatment going forward
I have had CT on lower abdomen and pelvis and MRI on whole spine.
Nothing cancerous found in any internal organ.
Obviously not curable but hoping for a few years left
Trying to stay positive, it is what it is
I'm 55 and otherwise fairly healthy ..
Just thought I would tell you my cancer story so far...
  • Hi Gary and welcome - I know you don't want to be here but there are some good people online and it's helped me learn so much and given me much needed reassurance.

Your story is horrible and I feel for you - it helps everyone understand your case if you stick all your results on your profile (mine can be accessed by clicking the icon next to my user name).

I am only 10 months into my journey and only have experience of Hormone Therapy so far - it works, and with a bit of practice and effort the side effects can be kept in check.

I wish you well for the best possible outcome on Tuesday - take care and good luck for the future.

    Kind Regards - Brian.

  • hey gary

no one can tell you how long u'll live , the stock answer is 3-5yrs with metastatic pc

i'm 4yrs in still working as a gardener although i can't do as much as i used too !!

positivity is key imo and keeping fit and a healthy diet will all help you .

i'm on zoladex every 12 weeks and abiraterone every day thats me for life or until the cancers finds a way round the treatment !!

the side effects of ht are a pain but manageable u get used to them .

    gd luck on tuesday
