Hi all, a week ago Tuesday I was diagnosed with prostate cancer. I appreciate that there are a lot of people worse off than me but it still came as a bombshell.. my stats if that's the right term are as follows  3+4=7 gleeson, grade 2, biopsy 24 cores 1 contained cells, the one that worries me a little is T3, M0 and CPG2 finally my PSA is 5.13 . Not sure what course my medical doctors will take with me, any thoughts appreciated..

Thanks Dave..

  • Hi Dave and welcome to the forum. The first place to start is to visit the Prostate Cancer UK website and download "How PC is Diagnosed", that will give you a lot of useful background information. Click on this link.

Please come back with any questions you might have as someone here will certainly have experienced the problem and will be able to help.

Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery and today is a gift.

  • Hi Dave

Your stats seem quite low really, in some ways surprising because of the T,3 which would indicate that cancer cells have moved outside the gland, no Mets though which is good .

Potentially still curable, I would check on the T3, possibly look at the MRI report which can tell u a fair bit more about size and location.

  • Thanks Seamus,clicked the link

    much like my Mcmillan booklet

  • Cheers Steve, I have a meeting at the hospital on Thursday when they are going to tell me their course of action, but will definately  asked the question..

  • Update, had my meeting today and the consultant said that they are unsure what route to take. The problem being that although my scores are quite good, Gleeson 3+4, grade 2 ect, the MRI shows that the cancer cells are close to the edge of the prostrate, so now they are going to make an appointment for me to see another urologist to get a 3rd opinion...
