Hello everyone.

Diagnosis received Tuesday this week, T3A stage, Gleason 3+4 = 7

66 reasonably fit, hole in the heart issue and previous stroke two years ago but thankfully without little in the way of issues from that.

This may preclude surgery anyway.

Not sure which way i would go but probably External Beam Radiology rather than surgery.

However has as anyone here been able to get HIFU treatment on NHS as this would be more appealing to me.

Thanks

  • Hi W

Because u are T3a where the cancer is outside the prostate but no mets you could well be better off with EB and hormone therapy.

I have read about Hi Fu in the past and think it works better if any tumour is confined to the gland itself. Also I have read of people having Hi Fu and then having to come back for further treatment. But having said that I am sure that there are success stories, perhaps someone will post saying just that

    good luck

    Regards

    Steve
