Hi all,

I had a prostatectomy 1st March this year, op went okish but the ED and incontinence is really depressing, or at least it is for me! Cancer gone, which is great don’t get me wrong but I now don’t feel complete as a man! Sounds selfish I know, maybe I need a good slap!!

  • Hi Docmartin M

Nobody needs a slapping, it’s getting through these curve balls life throws at you. Your op went well, your cancer free, go for a beer or a few days away, do something you used to enjoy and head up life’s good when things go right.

    Stay Safe

  • Hi, everything is relative.

It's your body and is crap something has happened to it.

For me, ok accept it, look at it for what it is, look at what can be done, then deal with healthily as your able.

Hitting, slapping kicking others isn't healthy, being moody n miserable not healthy.

Good to find what can get us out the fug????, Talk about without worrying how it sounds

Chinese massage...sit out in sun.....talk to somebody who's not invested.....

Biggest thing, be open honest with how you feel

Talk about without worrying how it sounds.

    Just like you doing.

Good on you me and who ever else helps you stay out the fug.

  • Hiya , my husband could have written your words , I just showed it him and he said it’s exactly how he feels . Although I give him loads of reassurance andsupport , I suppose I’m the one who doesn’t have  cancer  so it’s not the same for me. He’s only had the op by robot three weeks ago and I can’t believe how quick things have happened- catheter out and wounds healing nicely . Up til today we thought the incontinance was finished too - no dribbles for days but today it’s started again , hopefully just a blip , anyway I’m just letting you know how he’s getting on - amazing after 3 weeks I think ! I suppose it’s best just take on one thing at a time.
    good luck everyone
