Hi there,

I have was diagnosed with prostate cancer 2 years ago, level 4 metastasis to bones. Currently doing on olaparib (long may it continue!) I had radiotherapy recently, 10 sessions in aim to reduce a tumour that was pressing on things. Was in the prostate area which was not nice. Apart from that I'm doing well considering my stage of cancer, the olaparib is doing a good job and PSA is undetectable.

So there's a short bio of my situation. I've joined the forum as I have no contact with others in a similar situation and feel this is missing in my overall support so hope to get some contact with others on olaparib and or in a similar situation.

  • Donchadh,

Welcome to the Prostate Forum, all of us are in the same place as you, some worse than others.  It's a great place to get information and advice from men who have/ are living with PC.

I've been on Macmillan for just over a year and I am still amazed at how some are coping.  There's always someone here who has experienced whatever you need to know, all from first hand experience.

Keeping my sense of humour was paramount for me.  I'm in Remission now but won't take it for granted.

I have a hunger for knowledge about all things "Prostate Cancer ", if I can help in any way I will.  So will anyone in the forum.

    Best of luck.

    Steve (SteveCam)

  • Hello Donchadh, glad to hear you are doing so well, long may it continue. I am not on olaparib but I have a similar diagnosis. I am on HT and enzalutamide. Take care

    Regards

    Paul

  • Thanks for the reply. Without a sense of humour I'd be snowed under with self pity! Seems a decent enough site I'll keep visiting anyhoo and if anything I need I will ask here.

  • Hi Paul,

Im on monthly HT injections also don't think there is any escape from that!
