Well had my usual telephone meeting today with my Prostate Cancer consultant , thought it was going to be positive news ,as my last PSA was o.1 but surprise surprise nope I,ve been told the cancer has spread to my bones GREAT !!!! with a life expectancy of 3 to 5 years at the most.
It was only after I asked what the results of my CT scan was ,which was taken in May that she looked at the results and then informed me ,so the hospital actually knew in May that it had spread to the bones .
Trying to get my head round this and not easy , in the words of my brother in law who died of lung cancer " Are you Scared Melvyn, Yes I,ve never died before "
Hi
Not great news as many including me will tell you, something that might help a little is Alca D 3 you get it from the doctors, it helps strengthen the bones, any help is good for us, plus I also take pomi-T look both of these up on the net there no cure, but might help a little, keep positive it’s one of the strongest ways to fight this disease.
Stay safe
Joe
Willis422,
Wow, unbelievable. Don't get fobbed off with excuses why they didn't inform you.
Is there another hospital you can get to where you live?
This forum is full of men who are, and have been through a lot. I hope you can get some help and support from someone who can shed some light for you.
Steve (SteveCam)
Hi Steve, thanks for the reply ,have been assigned to another consultant and will ask for another opinion off her .I want another consultant to view the CT scan to give their opinion ,and to confirm it has spread .
In January I was told it hadn't spread , in June I was told that my PSA was 0.1 and that I nay not require last chemo .now i,ve been told it has spread and I have 3 years to live.quite a dramatic change Thanks again Steve
Unbelievable that Willis, I cannot believe that. Ask consultant about (zometa) zoledronic bone strengthening infusions, I have them every 4 weeks with daily Adcal tablets
