Considering Cyberknife as an alternative radiotherapy option but understand it is more intensive and not sure my bladder will cope with the 45 minute session.
Has anyone any experience they can share ?
Hi Opti,
I had my first session of radiotherapy today. When they checked my bladder with ultrasound they said that it was not full enough. I was then asked to drink another 2 cups of water. After waiting 40 minutes I felt the need to go to the toilet. As long as you notify them then this is okay. I then had to drink another 4 cups of water. After 30 minutes I felt the need to go again. Luckily enough they called me in, once you’re on the bed the need to go fades. I was on the bed for about 10-15 minutes. They have now extended my appointment time by 1 hour so that I can hydrate myself at home before my appointments. I did head to the toilet afterwards. I’m having 37 sessions.
I hope this helps
