Hi all, just had a blood test earlier this week after feeling a little unwell. I'm just about to turn 53. My PSA came back as 24 and I'm waiting for a phone consultation with a urologist early next week. Should I be worried?

    Hi Steven713,

I took I'll in Scotland last year and had to have a catheter fitted. My PSA at the time was over 400!! I didn't understand what it meant. After 6 months my catheter was removed and my PSA is now 4.8. My point is I am sure whatever treatment you are given will get it back under control.

    Take care and stay safe

  • Hi Steve

Too early to say really,  feeling unwell could be down to infection which can cause high PSa. Another PSa soon to check would be a good idea.

It's good that you will be speaking to a urologist for advice.

I would say another PSa and a MRI scan would tell u a lot more.

Try not to worry too much at this stage, come back when u know more

    Steve

Thank you. Its good to know there are people on here to talk to. I'll wait for my appointment and post an update when I know more. Its the waiting that is getting to me. Even though it was a very quick appointment.
