Hi . Was diagnosed nearly 3 years ago . Had radiotherapy followed by 2 years of hormone injections . Injections have stopped 6 months ago and just had PSA blood test , the first since hormone treatment stopped . Not had results yet , PSA during treatment was 0.05 . Should I expect it to rise at all now hormone treatment has ended.

  • Hi  and welcome to the forum. I had three years of HT with the last injection in June 2021. A couple of months after 20 sessions of RT in Feb/Mar 2019 my PSA became undetectable (<0.1) and has remained so ever since. My last PSA test was in early December 2021 six months after stopping the Prostap so about the same timescale as you and it's still <0.1.

I hope you get a good result and continue to do so for many years.

Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery and today is a gift.

  • Thanks for your reply , pleased yours is still low . I was expecting a rise . Living with cancer used to ring me with results the next day but have discharged me to the care of my GP and have to ring in 7 days.!!
