Here to say HiBlush

I've joined the group after my husbands diagnosis 8th Feb 2022. He will have a RP 11th March. I know I will benefit from the group immensely and may well have some questions at some point. There is all ready so much information available to see. Thanks to all who contribute and share their experiencesPray tone1

  • Hi  and welcome to the forum. I had HT/RT treatment but there are lots of members here who had RP and should be able to answer any questions you might have. In the meantime please edit your profile and add the details of your husband's PSA, Gleason score and TNM rating. That will enable us help you better.

Wish your husband good luck with his treatment.

Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery and today is a gift.

Hi Seamus, I tried to edit the profile unsuccessfully. My husbands PSA was 3.1, his Gleason 3+4 = 7, strong family history of Prostate Cancer, including fatalities both sides of the family and he is of West Indian decent. Operation will only spare nerves left side as the cancer is near right side nerves and they can't be saved. Diagnosis/treatment is based on one area to right with a shadow on the left too. He's T2. Cancer appears isolated to prostate, lymph nodes will be removed too I believe. Thanks for replying Blush

    Thank you Joe.

I think I'm going to have a few questions to postBlush

  • I had RP Jan this year. Very similiar to your description with nerves and lymph glands dissection. Thr operation is tough but its only a moment in time as is recovery. After 8 weeks I am returned to my day job. Incontinence issues are receding very fast and I still have some feeling down below. Its a chance of a cure although in my case the numbers were worse and it will be a few weeks before I know if I have escaped.

    Good luck
