My friend had radiotherapy for prostate cancer and has not had the best of health since! His PSA reading is good, but he has suffered from various problems, the latest being diagnosed with proctitis. Any advice would be welcome, he is not in a good place at the moment. Thanks in advance.

  • I suspect the issue really is how good his support has been - proctitis isn't nice, but in most cases it can be managed quite well. He'd be welcome here and would get support from people who have 'been there'.

    Heinous

If I can't beat this, I'm going for the draw.

Meanwhile, my priority is to live while I have the option.

  • Completed my Radiotherapy in November with no problems but in December started with proctitis which at first was extremely painful needing strong pain medication which was made worse by going to the toilet numerous times during the day after consultation with my consultant things are a lot better he advised me to take loperamide each day along with steroid suppository every other day not getting pain but uncomfortable at times and getting better.
