There are many different forms of treatment available, so it isn't necessarily all bad news.
No doubt you will have many questions to ask as your treatment progresses. There is a wealth of knowledge on this forum and you will receive a lot of support as time goes by. May I suggest that you complete the profile section outlining your diagnosis and treatment plan (if arranged) as this will enable people to accurately answer any queries you may have.

I’ve looked at your profile, it’s a bit sparse, but you will get used to adding things as you go along. Your diagnosis is similar to mine, I started on hormone tablets to bring my PSA down and help fight the cancer, next I had chemotherapy followed by radiotherapy, this all happened five and a half years ago, so things have moved on a little. I was on a trial called Stampede the idea of it was to hit the cancer hard and fast, everything done in a short space of time. I was a year older than you and had a PSA of 893 which set the ball in motion.
Once the team have all your scans and other results, they will come up with a plan of how you will be treated. If you have read anything about PC, you will know it’s slow to grow, not that slow but time enough for you to make choices when your treatment is offered depending on all your results. There will be others who will guide you as well, just keep posting.
