In a bit of a headless chicken kind of state. Got call from the hospital to say MRI came back for my husband level 5 shadowing on left side of prostate.
He has an appointment on Wednesday for TP biopsy? He is very hesitant to talk or go ahead with it.
Can anyone tell me how painful they are?
Also are there really effective treatments out there when your MRI is at level 5? I’m sooooo scared myself to hear the results from the biopsy.
Again I’m probably doing much reading I’m reading how these levels in MRI means probably a high level of Gleason.
I’m walking round fighting of the tears or with a fake ass smile on my face.
Sorry I know it doesn’t really make sense , but glad if anyone can just say hi.
Hiya, I no how u feel lovely, my husband had TP biopsy over 7 years ago, and from that found he had stage 4 Prostate cancer, been on therapy since then and still going strong, I was in pieces when they gave us the news but he was the strong one, his psi is 0.06 at the mo so as I say still going strong, anytime u wanna chat get in touch… x
I was diagnosed in August and have had all the tests. To be honest the biopsy was a doddle, sharp clicks as they take the samples and slight discomfort for a day afterwards, I found the mri the worst due to the noise.
Until they complete the tests try not to worry too much, there are lots of treatments out now and you must remember not to read too much into what you see on the internet as all results are based on historic data and treatments are improving all the time.
I am currently in the middle of my radiotherapy sessions and am on lifetime hormone treatment.
All the best for the New Year
Keith
Thank you for your response. He’s not talking much about, but telling me to stop bawling . I need to dig in and embrace my Northern gritAs she wipes away another round of tears.

Do the results take two weeks to come back?
