Hi all,

My hubby now has a PSA of 0.4 from 44.4 in September. We are delighted with this. He also started on Zytiga and Prednisolone two weeks ago.
however suddenly out of the blue he has rectal bleeding during a movement. Yesterday and today. Only during a movement. He has never had piles..so I’m going to get him checked tomorrow.

id hate to think it’s moved to the rectum when we are doing so well. Anyone had this??

thanks,

Louli

  • Hi Louli,

Has he had radiotherapy? If so, it could be after effects of that.

Either way, you are right to get him checked.

If I can't beat this, I'm going for the draw.

Meanwhile, my priority is to live while I have the option.

  • Thank you Heinous…no radiotherapy and it will likely be after Christmas now but I’m calling again in the morning.
    keep you posted.

    • I'm very new to this. My dad is 81. He had radiotherapy a year ago and has just started to have constant bleeding. We don't really understand why.
  • Could be after effects of radiotherapy, but could be something else entirely. What do the doctors say?

No contact as yet. I have reached out to the Macmillan nurse. Awaiting more. I didn't realise that could be an issue after a year.

  • Can be any time, as radiotherapy can leave scar tissue which can break down.

    Usually quite manageable.

  • Heinous,

Everything settled down so no further episodes.. i got the dr to check his blood levels iron and haemaglobin etc and all is well. If the bleeding happens again I will revisit it with the specialist nurse.

    Thanks
