My husband has prostrate cancer and at first he was adamant that he wasn't having chemo, but here we are six months down the line with two sessions left to go.

He's apprehensive about the radiotherapy now.

  • Hello Betsy

There is no need to worry about radiotherapy therapy, it affects some people, usually it causes things like the runs. Out of twenty sessions I had one bad day. He’s doing well with his chemotherapy, that was the worst of the treatments. Pity about the Xmas diner, when I had mine through Xmas and cooked the meal, it tasted metallic not nice for the favourite meal of the year. Still these treatments need doing.
Hope you both stay positive helping each other at this time is a big plus.

    Stay safe

    Thank you joe,

  • Hello again

Were here to help, give information where we can, I know you are both worried, it’s not the best time to be waiting, at any time of the year. Please give your husband our best regards and please keep in touch, he’s never alone and with you by his side, I’m sure he will smile soon.

    Stay safe

  • Hello Betsy, I am on week 3 of my radiotherapy and it has been ok. I use cetraban moisturizer on my skin each day. Am feeling quite tired but it is a 35 mile trip for me to the hospital. I also have a metallic taste in my mouth. Not sure if it is a side effect of the radiotherapy or the drug metformin. Hope all goes well for your husband Betsy. With best wishes, Graham.

  • Hi Betsy

So long as I followed the recommended diet to the letter I had no problems with RT. The only time I did have problems was when I didn't!
