Hi there,
Received my dx by phone recently. The biopsies taken were quite traumatic. 18 taken, 9 of them cancerous.
I received mine "by 'phone" very impersonally through the NHS app a few days before the call with the consultant was due to take place. Strangely the consultant didn't seem to know anything about the NHS app.
Luckily in my case there was no surprise. I knew what to expect from my pirads, and cchat with the nurse at the biopsy appt., but still not the best way to handle this and coulks be quite upsetting for some.
It's well worth reading the 'toolkit' for general advice.
And do come back if you have more specific questions ...
