Travel Insurance

Just tried to renew insurance with NatWest with whom we have been insured for many years certainly through all of my diagnosis in 2018 until now had it out in 2019, radiotherapy in 2020, hormone treatment 2020 until 2024. My PSA remained undetectable until November last year and then I returned to hormone treatment and subsequently Darolutamide both of which I am tolerating quite well, my PSA has returned to 0.01. I tried to renew my insurance but was denied we were paying £760 per year for the two of us they renewed my wife’s but I was left to find an alternative insurer. Maggie’s sent me a list of possibles but most of them did not want to know or suggested fees for a yearly multiple travel policy in the £6500/7500 range. I eventually got a quote for a one off cruise out of New York for £2680 covering 19 days which remained available for 30 days, apparently the USA and the Caribbean are the worst places to get covered for. I miss calculated and missed the cut off date on the day it expired. They gave me an immediate replacement quote, everything the same but by some alchemy this became £3900. I am venting for what I feel was an unreasonable turn of events but mainly as a cautionary tale for any of you setting off down the same road as we travelled.
