Hi all,
During the last 2 months of very hot weather I refrained from the weightlifting side of my exercise regime (bad move!) as I have a heavy lifting physical job and was exhausted after a day's work, especially after getting my daily 10000+ steps walk in... I've just recently got back into the weights and can't believe my loss in strength, I expected a drop but I'm a little shocked at the extent of it... Beforehand I was benching 110kg, 10 ish reps to fail, (not free weights, a multigym, I'm not that strong, haha), now I've had to drop to 80kg before I'm able to hit the 10 reps, so I'm guessing it's going to take a while to get back up there again, needless to say I won't be doing that again, and advise against it, at least stopping completely anyway...
Also, I'm starting to feel the old flushes (though I don't suffer badly) again since it's cooled down, during the hot weather the only way I could tell if I was having one was going from oozing sweat to literally leaking, haha...
All the best to all
Jay
I think you are right. I have been missing a lot and now find it hard going, but have been to the gym four times in the last week- weights and bike - and am feeling a lot better for it, although lifting less but managed 12k ride the other day on an uphill setting!!!
Cheers
KrisPy
