  • Hello ,

I'm very sorry you have a recurrence and therefore need further treatment.

I was in the same position just under 2 years ago and received my latest 12 week review result just yesterday which was PSA still undetectable with all other blood test results normal.

Treatments for recurrence can deal with the problem for a long time so don't despair just yet. If you an give us more information on the nature of recurrence and proposed treatments that would be useful.

  • I am on day 7 of radiotherapy and feel terrible

I have a muzzy head and dizzy ,been like this for 4 days  mention it to my radio therapy team and was told it is nothing to do with my treatment. Anyone else had this and is this a side effect of  radiotherapy

  • Hello Wisey,

I haven't seen anything like this mentioned before in other posts relating to RT & I didn't get this when I was having my 20 fractions.

You don't mention if you are on any other medication e.g. HT or something for another condition & if so it could be a possible side effect of those, but the first thought that crossed my mind was whether you are drinking enough water at the moment given the very hot weather we are having at the moment.  Feeling dizzy / light headed is one of the symptoms of dehydration & whilst you may feel you are drinking enough, the hot weather means that your body will be sweating a lot more than normal to try & keep cool.

If you are at all concerned, you could always check with your doctor or call 111 for advice (also available online).

    Hope it passes soon,

    Best Wishes

    Brian

  • Think you might be on the right path .I was fine and had no side effects until last Tueday .It was in the 30 degrees and I drove the 35 miles to the hosp and the 35 miles back  on my motorcyle with all the protective clothing on and I was completly soacked in sweat when I got back home and the next day the headache and woozy feeling came over me .Today I have started feeling a lot better.Wondering now if I had a bit of heat exhaustion.I stop using the motorcycle in this heat and used the car with the AC fully onThat was 3 days ago feeling a lot better now.All that apart the therapy is going well.Only 13 more to go

  • At the beginning of 2025 I was already taking Relugolix for advanced prostate cancer. My oncologist, who is wonderful and who I don't blame for what happened next,  put me on Apalutamide. Not for long because I was one of those unlucky enough to suffer as seizure. (Fifteen months later I still can't drive but that is down the completely inadequate response of DVLA). Relevant to this discussion is that following the seizure I start to suffer early morning balance issues. I got no help anywhere until I decided to pay out to see a private GP. After listening to me for about 30 minutes (where can you get that on the NHS) his diagnosis was lack of water intake.  I went home and started to make sure I was drinking lots more water and within 24hrs all my balance issues disappeared.

The rule now is that if I see a glass of water, I drink it. If I see an empty glass, I fill and then start drinking again
