My darling hubby has finished his radiotherapy! He is really pleased and it seemed to go by quite fast. He had 5 days a week and two were weekends which were great as traffic and parking were so much easier.
Whilst I am pleased it is done there is a part of me that found the regular visits reassuring; something was being done at least. Also it was nice meeting people in similar situations and in a way it sort of normalised it a bit (weird I know). Now it feels like we are on our own and it's a bit scary. He has an appointment with oncology on 4th August so we will see what that brings.
Anyway it is done and he has coped pretty well although the radiologist told him side effects may worsen over the next 2 weeks so they don't . So far he is going to the loo 3 times at night ( was down to once after his TURP) and has spells of upset stomach, particularly in the morning.
Thanks for 'listening' to my ramblings!
Karen
