Today is the 10 year anniversary of receiving my PC diagnosis.
I had RT/HT and all was good for 8 years, then it recurred. Two years later I continue indefinite Triplet Therapy and, despite continuing irritating side effects, I remain extremely grateful and fortunate that I am able to continue pursuing my favourite hobby of following the sun and heat with my wife of 48 years.
Next up a southwest US road trip to celebrate my 70th birthday in the heat of the desert and, on the big day itself, the cool aircon of the Cowpony bar in Tucson, Arizona.
I wish everyone on here, past, present and future, similar good fortune.
Derek.
Hello Derek (excavator )
A cracking post - an amazing journey and I am sure the support of your wife has helped you through the last 10 years.
I wish you many more years in the sun and a happy 70th birthday when it comes. I am aware it's not your first rodeo with cancer and your positive attitude shines through in all your posts.
On a personal note thank you for sharing the Community Champions job - as the group gets busy it's great having you on board and I am sure the Lung Cancer group has benefited from your advice too.
Kind regards - Brian.
