I'm currently 3/4 way through Abiraterone treatment. My skin VERY easily bruises, especially over  veins, which often split and bleed under the skin. Other general bangs and cuts take ages to heal. Has anyone else on Abiraterone experienced this?

  • I've also noticed easy bruising when on abiraterone, my understanding is that it's the steroids taken as a part of the treatment that are causing this. You're 3/4 of the way there, 1/4 to go!

  • Thanks. You've eased my mind. Hadn't considered the steroid but what you say makes sense.  Cheers

  • Probably still worth mentioning to your medical team, they can check in a blood test of there are clotting issues.

  • Hi

I didn’t have the problem I was very lucky but I wasn’t in a job where I was used to getting knocked about, I was aged 58 to 60 when I had abiraterone.

We don’t know anything about you and your profile is empty, maybe try and give us a bit of a steer towards who you are and what you’ve been through.

    Take care

  • Hi. I was 79 when I was diagnosed with prostate cancer Gleason scale 8. I have very good overall health and no major problems with the Abiraterone etc al medication other than extreme tiredness , diSlight smiley bouts and seemingly peeing battery acid. I'm an active DIYer and regularly look after school age grandchildren . I'm scheduled to finish Abiraterone end October. Thanks for your interest Slight smile

  • Should have read et al and dizzy. Dammed predictive text.
