  • Hello all. My name's Keith. I recently had brachytherapy procedure for prostate cancer and I also suffer with autism. MacMillans in Portsmouth have arranged for me to see a clinical psychologist with a view to CFT but there's a 16week waiting list before I even get assessed I desperately need to connect to others with similar intersection ie Neurodivergency (Intense Anxiety - depression) - cancer - addiction is a heavy burden to bear and finding others with similar issues would be so helpful
  • Hello, Keith.

I have nothing useful to offer but I just wanted to say that this group is wonderfully supportive and caring.

You will, I'm sure, find solace here.

  • And I wish you strength to go forward.

    • Bless you. Thank you very much.
    • Love and Wishes to all at MacMillans and to everyone else involved in recovery.
  • Hello Keith (

Welcome to the group although I am so sorry to find you joining us.

Sadly the NHS has too few clinical staff and too many people needing their help - how about trying the following (you may already have).

    * Speaking to your oncology team - telling them of your intense anxiety and seeing if they can help you get an earlier appointment.

    * Speaking to your hospital PALS (Patient Advisory and Liaison Service) and seeing if they can help you with an earlier appointment.

    * Contacting the team who issued you with the appointment and telling them you are available to cover any short notice cancellation.

    * Having a word with your GP to see if they can get you an earlier appointment in view of your condition.

I hope you get something sorted - do let us know how you get on.

    Best wishes- Brian.
