Hi everyone

So  I said that I would let you all know how my biopsy went,

My History

Age now 67

Cancer spread to lymph nodes  in 2020

High risk and aggresive and Gleason 9

Sarted right away at the time on 2 years hormone treatment

2021 Chemotherapy and Radiotherapy

PSA 0.01 after treatment until February 2025

Then increaeed throughout the year, in February 2026 PSA was 1.7

I had a biopsy after a psma pet/ct scan which found the cancer had gone walk about

To the nodes/areas  as follows-

Abdomin

Ribs/bones

Left side of neck

Spine - multiple areas

I adimted  to hospital last Sunday  and had another MRI scan as I could not get up or walk.

I was told that the cancer had also spread to multiple areas of my spine but no spinal compression

The reason for me not walking was Multie disc degenerative disease I also have radiotherapy damage to L5-S1

I came home after 5 days in hospital with a catheter to help me and new pain relief (progabaline)

along with oromorhe which has to be stepped up from every 4 to  every 2 hours if needed.

Also came home with a zimmer frame on wheels and a stick

My left leg is not as it should be along with left neck and shoulder pain

Pain 24/7 Stars in buttocks

middle lower background the groin down my thigh and 10/10 pain at the front from knee to my foot

(This is the multi degenerative disease mentioned above)

I'm home and taking things easy, without feeling sorry for myself

I saw many Doctors and see th Oncologist on Tues for the bigger picture "the prognosis " and if I want the treatment offered before this happed (apalutamide) but the treatment offer may change

So thats were I'm up to for now

Love to all my friends on hear

Take care

  • Hello Spud

Not the news I wanted to read and I am bloody sure you didn’t want either!!

All I can say is best wishes for Tuesday and I hope you get a plan and some positive news. Christie’s are the best and I am sure they will do what’s best for you.

If I can do anything for you drop me a line - I am almost round the corner- if you need to chew the fat - I am your man.

    Bob was right!

  • Thank you Brian

It's nice to know people like yourself are there to talk or listen to

I have to be the same old spud and keep positive but not over do it when I get energy

I'm sure we'll speak again this next week

    Thanks Brian

  • Sorry to hear you are going through this and have to deal with pain all the time. It sounds like you are handling it better than most people and are a strong person as you quote at bottom of your post. Hoping & praying you get relief soon and wishing you the best.

Thank you for your kind words, I was raised being told "there's always someone worse of than you"

Wise words by a very lovely mother.

As you can see I'm in the wide awake club again, been awake since 3.00am and stuck it out until now 04.55 but just taken pain relief

We know that the whole left leg/hip/buttocks  pain is due to the multileval degenerative disc disease  as shown on both psma pet/ct scan and the mri scan whilst in hospital last week

I had already seen the oncologist at the end of March confirming new speads to the abdomin, bones/ribs and left of neck. Howver the bomb shell was that I have multiple cancers on my spine.

We already have an appointment booked to decide if I take on new treatment in the form of apalutamide so this falls nicely into place said the hospital for the oncologist to hive me a prognosis.

This i can then digest, process and get on with beating this thing inside me.

    Take care copyman

    Thanks again

  • Hi Spud.

So sorry that you are in the wars but congratulations to you for battling along.

There is so much for you to absorb.Sciatic type pain from my hips to my toes alone brought on depression in me for a fair while so that is just a slight taste of what you are going through.

My very best wishes and admiration to you for your indominatable spirit.

  • As you can see I'm in the wide awake club again, been awake since 3.00am
I know I’ve posted this before, but when I read about you being awake in the blackness of the night, I thought of “Invictus”.  I admire your stoicism immensely.

Out of the night that covers me,
Black as the pit from pole to pole,
I thank whatever gods may be
          For my unconquerable soul.
In the fell clutch of circumstance
I have not winced nor cried aloud.
    Under the bludgeonings of chance
My head is bloody, but unbowed.
Beyond this place of wrath and tears
Looms but the Horror of the shade,
And yet the menace of the years
Finds and shall find me unafraid.
It matters not how strait the gate,
How charged with punishments the scroll,
I am the master of my fate,
I am the captain of my soul.
all the best  - there will be many more rooting for you, that are observers to our chats.  AW
