Well I had a call today about a hour ago , I honestly thought it would be dads mri results , but it was a lovely lady saying that my dads been referred to the fraility service , this will obviously be due to how weak he is becoming and he’s loosing so much muscle now ( hard to see as my dad was a body builder )
so they are ringing next week and want to do a over the phone consultation which made me laugh because how the hell will they see him through a phone ! ( my mums going to be there ) as he will Lie through his teeth !
so hopefully after that they might actually get someone out to help him back on him feet and get moving “ who knows “
has anyone on here ever been involved with the fraility service
thankyou :)
Chloe …. Still no results on mri
I have not had experience a fragility service but will keep him in my prayers! I had colon cancer i which required chemo. The longer I took it the weaker I got. Strange feeling of not feeling sleepy just exhausted! I make it thru to a complete recover and pray you dad will as well!
Hi Chloe
I know about this service in Scotland soI think it will be similar.
it’s about getting the right support in place at home rather than a hospital admission . They look at the whole situation . Personal care, eating , dressing etc plus occupational therapy & physio & pain management Trying to maximise the persons ability. . In a lot of situations this is a good choice but at times the person needs a little spell in hospital to get a holistic rehab plan set up.
Once you get your dad’s results there will be a clearer picture .
On another note . I don’t know if you are aware that your dad can claim either PIP for under 66 and AA for over . Just incase you’re not aware . Once he has that in place . If you work under a certain amount of hours a week you can apply for carers allowance
best wishes

thankyou for your lovely message !
I really want my dad to go into hospital for a short spell so he can get the care he needs and the medical attention , I’ve tried for weeks on end to get him in , as you no I really am on the ball and trying my best with him so he can get some strength up and use them legs again ! Eveything is up in the air waiting on these mri results
in my head I would like them to take him to some rehabilitation centre near by get him stronger and on his feet sort him out with his pain management etc then he can come home and try again , that’s my wish
I’m getting no we’re trying to give him the medical attention he needs in his home I’m really not , If anything he’s getting more depressed and weaker , has the odd good day but will not use his legs there like match sticks now , from being so good on his legs running all round the beach it’s crazy behaviour !
I think he needs mental heath help aswell so this is why I’m pushing for him to have a short stay somewere , I’m hoping they do
and I was thinking yesterday even if they offer him treatment soon there is no way that dad will be fit enough to go back and forth back and forth it will kill him he’s to weak , he would have to stay somewere for a bit until stronger
so do you think they may send him somewere after the call , I don’t want him to go in a home or anything but what I do want is medical care and professional care to get him on his feet he’s a nervous wreck x
he’s got them ringing him next week then bloods the day after a full blood count
STILL WAITING ON MRI RESULTS
Chloe c
Just keep at them fingers crossed you hear tomorrow
Best wishes
