I had a phone call of my dads consultant today saying that he will be sat waiting for my dads mri results at his end and if he isn’t happy with them or thinks dad is having spinal compression then he will be admitted to hospital ,

im caring for him at the moment ( well doing all I can )

he is really off his food now and getting weaker by the day , I honestly think it will be a god send if they take him in because he will get the professional help needed as lying in bed day in day out isn’t helping him what so ever , he’s really depressed it’s not even like my dad now it’s sad :( he’s on prostap but it’s not working what so ever and he’s on the bone tablet that goes with him

anything I do is wrong yet I’m doing eveything I can

I’m hoping they can get my dad sorted asap , ambulance transport has been arranged but I am having doubt now that he will even make the appointment, if he doesn’t I don’t no what I’m going to do

68 year old man with prostate cancer spread to his hip and 3rd vertebrae psa score of 135

I no they are onto him now as I’ve had a few calls this week and I’m very grateful for this

thankyou for your time

  • Just breathe

your dads consultant seems to be in the ball . It’s really important that your dad has this MRI and if they have transport arranged let them take him . If he’s really poorly in the hospital they will contact his consultant .

  • The PTS ambulance crew will be used to your dad’s current state of mind and weakness so should be able to deal with that. They can’t force him to go of course but I’m sure they will use careful persuasion where needed!

  • He’s said he will definitely go but what he doesn’t no is the consultant at the hospital will be waiting for the results there and then

he’s going to our local walk in centre the pop up mri there

  • He is really poorly I’m wondering how the hell he is going to manage , he’s going to our local walk in centre to the pop up MRI outside the building

I say pop up I don’t no what it’s called ( mobile bus ) I told his consultant how ill he is getting and fragile and he said they might admit him tomorrow and if he has spinal compression it would explain eveything

  • I am glad they are looking out for your dad . Hopefully they get to the bottom of his pain . As it certainly drags you down.
    Keep us up today please

  • Oh yes since this pain started he’s been in bed then it became the low mood and he’s getting nasty now then off his food and just absolutely no interest in anything or anyone , thinks lying in bed is absolutely fine and a miricle will happen , I want him in hospital with professional care and clean , he can’t even shower now and I’ve been doing that aswell , I went today and he’s just honestly getting worse each day and thinner it’s horrible to see , when the consultant rang me today it was like god appeared !!!!!
