Hi everyone best wishes to you all.

Firstly thanks to all who post on this forum it’s a great comfort and help especially when like me your scared and confused when you first hear you have prostate cancer.
Im doing well and still on active surveillance this past 3 years.
I was just wondering after reading one of our members has been on a/s for 9 years how many other members are on a/s and for how long.

  • Hi Fleet

I was on AS for 4 years and in that time my PSA went from about 3 to 13.

Yours is a bit different, stable at roughly the same figure so see if u can beat that 9 years which I think is a bit unusual.

I think normal time is up to about 5 years but I could be wrong.

Anyway your doing ok, just keep going with PSA tests and hopefully yearly MRI

    Best wishes

    Steve

  • I was PSA 12 when first diagnosed and remember well my diagnosis meeting. I was told I was suitable for AS and if I was very lucky the PSA would settle down and no treatment would be necessary. 2 years later it was PSA 15 and I set off down the path to treatment.

  • Hi

It seems to be a roll of dice how you progress, hope your treatment is going ok.

  • Hi Steve

I’ve read your bio before so know your journey, hope your still getting on ok

I’m lucky that my local nhs has been very good, surgery phone before 3monthly psa test and my mri for next year has already been booked

Even if I have to have some kind of treatment in the future I’ve had 3 years of normal life
    Take care
