My husband is due his third chemotherapy next week the first one he had lots of aches and pains was a lot better after the second one. Should your PSA start to reduce with chemotherapy any experiences would be great to know Many thanks Anne
Hi Thomsoa, they do check the psa with the blood test before chemo they should say, if not ask, my husband's started to drop with HT and chemo.
All the best Sheena
Hi Sheena
Thank you hopefully will see it starting to drop thanks for getting back to me he is due for 10 rounds so number 3 next week
Hi Anne (Thomsoa ), normally the PSA will drop but it can spike also in the early rounds, so check with your team. At the end of the chemo apparently a 50% reduction in PSA is deemed a good result. HT should have a much faster impact on PSA. Your team will be monitoring and hopefully will tell you, but ask them if they don’t!
Best wishes, David
