Hi guys do you have to have an anenama every day when having radiotherapy?
Hello Mace
The Radiotherapy works best with an empty bowel - it gives the Radiologists a clear view of the Prostate.
I live a mile from my hospital so did my enema at home and half an hour later was ready to walk to the hospital with an empty bowel.
The enemas are easy to administer, aren't painful and work quickly - nothing to worry about.
You only need to have an empty bowel on days when you are having treatment so in my case it was Monday to Friday for 4 weeks.
Best wishes - Brian.

Hi ,
my OH had 6 dozes of radiotherapy and had to self administer the enema before each session. He had to do it in the hospital toilet as we lived too far away for it to have an empty bowel. After the 1st one at the planning he managed no problem . He also had to drink water afterwards to have a 3/4 full bladder .
good luck & best wishes
Liz & OH xx
