Hi all,
Very recently had an MRI at Salford Royal, via a NICE NG12 referral from GP.
Just called to enquire about result timescales, lady advises that the referring GP has to request them ?
Is that correct or will they automatically make there way to my NHS app.
Many thanks
Hello Steve (Steve1973)
My MRI was at the request of the consultant at North Manchester General - they are Manchester University Trust and the results were available the next day on their "My Chart" App.
I think you will find as your GP Practice has requested the MRI the results will be sent direct to the GP Practice. The delay will be in the GP's administration uploading the images (if they do) onto your "documents" section of the NHS App. Salford Royal is part of the Northern Care Alliance NHS Trust and as far as I am aware do not load documentation to the NHS App.
My advice - call you GP Practice and ask if the results have arrived.
Best wishes - Brian.

Hello Steve (Steve1973)
, it's just the waiting that gets to me
I know just where you are with that - I am waiting on the results of a CT scan I had on Monday!
It would be great if the NHS was "joined up" - There are 214 NHS Trusts all using different systems and the NHS App doesn't work in Scotland and Wales!! The GP's all work differently.
Sadly you need to be pro-active and keep chasing for appointments and results.
Good luck with your MRI results - when you get them.
Best wishes - Brian.

OK, so pathway is currently 4 weeks to consultant who will provide results.
I'm 10 days in
I did ask if I could access the mri results prior to the appointment but not possible.
I understand the pros and cons of seeing the results prior to a meeting, but seems harsh if the scan results are ready to have to wait for the in person.
Good or bad , given the amount of information available now it would give a person time to consider things before the appointment
