  • I’ve put in my old sw hat and it’s probably outdated or updated if you want to call it.

you are entitled to statutory sickness benefit . Depending on your prognosis and age you could apply for PIP or AA if you’ve had PC . You must have had difficulties with daily living tasks or mobility for 3 months and expect them to last for at least another 9 months. It might be worth speaking to your Cancer nurse who will keep you right

best wishes  hope you get some support. Let us know

  • Hello

Times have changed somewhat since Liz was dealing with this. As far as I am aware the following apply if you are Self employed.

1 - You MAY be able to claim ESA - Employment and Support Allowance. What you get if anything is based on your Class 2 National Insurance Contributions over the previous 3 years.

2 - if you can't claim ESA - it will be Universal Credit for you.

You can get free help from the following

    Turn2us or

    MoneyHelper or

    Citizens Advice

I am Self Employed and carried on working during my Radiotherapy - although my job involves driving a desk and computer!!

    I hope this helps.

    Best wishes - Brian.
