I know we've had a couple of sad threads with the passing of Joeeven and Ulls in the last few days - bless them both.
But I just thought I would thank one and all for all your contributions in keeping everyone supported on the Community.
The Community was started in 2014 and today the Prostate Community has seen the 5,000th thread started, so in 11 years past and present members through peer to peer support have supported thousands of people with a Prostate Cancer diagnosis or question.
It's great to see some humour on the Community (yes with cancer you need it) and I am so pleased to know that when we need to be serious you all know how to step it up and pull some fantastic posts out of the bag.
Thank you one and all - it doesn't matter how often or what you post but as a superstore says "Every Little Helps", so here's to the next 5,000 threads. .
Keep it up - you are all amazing.
Kind Regards - Brian.
(Community Champion - Prostate Group).
Brian, a huge thanks to you too my friend, it's hard losing friends on the community William is the 4th for me in the last few weeks, and being on the "treatable ", pathway myself, it's a reminder of how precious life is and how important it is to make the most of it, not always easy as many of you know, lt's sometimes bloody hard, but having a wonderful family and friends, and you guys on the community, a wonderful group of people we all wish we'd never met, but are so thankful we found ourselves here when we needed each other at a difficult time, thank you all.
love Eddie and Sheila xx
It's "our" Community and between us we make it work. Yes, it's hard sometimes, yes, we "lose" friends but we also make friends too - I have some very good friends here.
It's not only the actual people on the Community we help it's the thousands who don't join, "ghost" through and "suck off" the information they need and move on - last year the entire Community had in excess of 10 million page views. Now that's some help and support.
Thanks for all your contributions.
Best wishes - Brian.

Thank you Brian for keeping us in order. I moderate a couple of other forums and I know how much goes on behind the curtains. "Herding cats" is probably the best description!
I joined the forum in 2018 whilst going through a prolonged diagnosis process (it was nearly six months from first referral to the start of treatment) and it was a great support for both of us at that very uncertain time.
I'll raise a glass of alcohol-free IPA (Google for Black Isle Brewery Halo) as a toast to the next 5000 threads.
Good morning Seamus47
It's not too bad on here, you are a well behaved bunch and it does give me time to work on other groups and do a few other things. We do have a monthly "Champs" meeting to check on site news and issues and developments but by and large it's quiet on the Prostate Group.
It's great to see you are doing well 8 years into your personal journey - keep it up.
On a personal note about 8 years ago I stayed in Cromarty and as well as the distillery visits we did visit Black Isle Brewery - I came away with a T-Shirt and 48 cans!! One of the 2 pubs in the village sold their beers so we made that "our local" for 2 weeks!
Kind Regards - Brian.

Great Post Brian, your words are 'spot on.'. The help and support you give personally is massive!
I posted a big thank you on the "Incurable forum " as they gave me permission to post about Ulls. I remember Ulls saying what a great bunch they were. He wasn't wrong!
Macmillan does have the best Cancer Support forums. I am glad I can play my little part in it.

Hello Steve (Stevecam)
We do what we do. We don't please everyone but what we do is offer advice, a listening ear, and support to other members of the Community.
It is our Community - we all have cancer - we are here to support one another. At the end of the day I log out of the Community and hope I have given support and help to anyone posting - it's hard - I don't always have the answer but it's OUR Community and someone will have an answer.
Yes - I am a "Community Champion" I have had a bit of training to keep you lot in order but at the end of the day I value the support I get too. It works - lets keep it that way.
I know we have lost Joe and Ullls - they would both wish us to carry on doing what we do - so lets keep it that way - we are here for anyone and are none judgmental.
Thanks everyone for doing what you do - it's been a hard couple of weeks - if anyone needs any extra support please do let me know.
Best wishes - Brian.

Brian, what you said:
I don't always have the answer but it's OUR Community and someone will have an answer.
This is one of the best things about this forum, there's always someone who has experienced something different.
This is what attracted me to Macmillan in the first place.
