   and to everyone else:

I have just heard from Ulls' wife that Ulls passed away on Tuesday 6th May at 6:50am.  He passed away comfortably in a Hospice.

I have known Ulls since I was diagnosed nearly 4 years ago.  He has/had a great character and I feel special to have had the opportunity to know him.  I know Ulls supported Sunderland, but I can't hold that against him.

I managed to get Ulls to join the Maggies' Prostate Support Group in Newcastle with me.  Ulls was there for me in some of my low moments and also there to share in some better moments.  Myself and my partner Tracey will miss him, as will a lot of you in the Macmillan Prostate forum.

I don't think i have stopped crying since I heard the news.

  • Hello Steve (

Would you please pass on my condolences to Julie his wife on behalf of the Community. You can also let her know that since Ulls joined the Community in April 2021 he made over 6000 posts and his contributions have helped hundreds of Community members on their personal journey.

    He WILL be missed.

You take care Steve and if I can do anything for you please do let me know.

    Kind Regards - Brian.

  • Thank you for letting us know and please pass on my husband and my condolences to his wife, family and friends. It is so sad when one of the prostate family finally loses the battle as I think we all take it personally. Tell his wife that he has also left a legacy in his posts for which we, and future members, will thank him and keep him alive in our memories.

Look after yourself Steve  . I am sending you a big hug.

  • Hello Steve, oh, I am so sad to read this - especially coming so quickly after Joe’s passing. A sad time for us all! Ulls was one of the very first people to reach out to me when I was in a very dark place having been just told about my husband’s diagnosis.

if you are in contact with Ulls’ family could you let them know that I am so grateful to him for his support and pass on my deepest sympathy and sincere respect for Ulls?

in his own quiet way, he gave so much to us all. A true gentleman! May he rest in peace.

  • So sorry to hear this, Ulls was the first person I met at the Maggies centre and helped me sort out my parking, such a wonderful guy he will be sorely missed.

  • So sorry for your loss  and all our friends on this wonderful support group.

May Ulls rest in eternal peace.

    Hugs

  • Ivor, I couldn't believe it when I found out this morning.

    Nothing fazed him.
