Hi all it looks like I'm starting my rt treatment on 30th June , despite a really great letter from my consultant our insurance company (stay sure) won't Insure me for a week's holiday from the 7th June anyone recommend a company that may? Thanks.  Paul

  • Hello Paul,                                                                                      I was signposted to 'insurancewith.' I have stage 4 metastatic cancer and they were fine but had to be done over 'phone not online.                             I also got confirmation to travel from my Oncologist.

                    Hope you get sorted, Graham.

  • Thanks Graham

  • Hi  Paul

we we’re looking for insurance and I went through the full list that Maggie  Centre gave us . They ranged from £5000 plus .

we opted for Holiday Safe although insurance with was ok too . We found doing a couples joint insurance for a year more reasonable.

    good luck & Best Wishes

  • Hello Paul (

A holiday is an amazing break when you have cancer and we have a dedicated forum for travel insurance and here's the link you need:

Travel insurance forum for cancer patients

    * Most insurers will cut almost half the cost of travel insurance for prostate cancer patients after you have had your Radiotherapy (on the assumption this has killed the cancer).

    * Nearly all the companies use the same algorithms for their online quotes - you are best telephoning the Company and giving the details they need. You know you have answered the questions.

    * I am a T3a and my wife has a few medical issues and we have an annual worldwide policy with insurancewith for about £ 780.

I do hope you get sorted.

    Best wishes - Brian.

  • I have locally advanced (T3a) and was able to get insurance for the week before my RT with the post office. They didn't offer the yearly policy but agreed to insure that specific trip for about £150. After I've completed RT they agreed to insure me while I'm on HT on a yearly policy for around the same amount.

  • Thank you

  • Hi. We struggled to find a company as we wanted an annual policy with cruising. The only 2 companies that met our needs was insure and go and all clear. We went with all clear at a huge cost but at least we get good insurance. Just be careful and read the small print as some don't include countries like Spain, or only cover so many days abroad each year. Good luck

  •    We have an annual travel insurance policy with a company called 'Insureme4'

Got it through the Martin Lewis TV show, signed up for his emails and there's a search engine there.  Last year and annual policy inc cruising ( not USA) was just under £300

This year it's £480 but we both have a lot of pre existing conditions. Give it a try.

It could be beneficial for an annual policy.
