  • Hello Dave (

Sorry for the delay in replying - I still have my Prostate but have lived with an indwelling catheter for over 10 months. Can you give me a little bit more information please - when did you have the surgery? do you still have the catheter? have you come to the TWOC (trial without catheter) yet? is the burning sensation just when you pee or all the time?

If you can come back to me on those I will see if I can help.

    Best wishes - Brian.

  • Hi surgery 16th Jan catheter removed 24th burning most of time.

  • Hi Davej123. I was quite sore after catheter removal but not burning. Could be a UTI which is quite common. Maybe worth getting checked at docs.

  • Hello Dave (

Ah sorry about that - I thought if it was a catheter issue I could help out. As you are aware we aren't medically trained on the forum.

So the general rule is you may get a burning sensation for a couple of days after surgery. As yours is constant and you feel like you need to go all the time you need to contact your team. If the pain is unbearable contact 111 or go to A & E.

I know it's sounds daft but you also need to stay hydrated as fluids will help flush out the urinary tract. I can't see any reason why you can't take over the counter pain relief if this will help until you speak with your team.

I do hope this helps, please do let us know how you get on.

    Best wishes - Brian.
