Hello everyone!
Although I am not active on the site I keep an eye on you guys and as far as I can see all seem in good spirit and keep having good fun on the site!
We are OK. Jacob is still very active but come the evening he is tired so very tired. This is to be expected.
I know travel insurance is a topic which come around so often, however if anyone can recommend a company that is not breaking the bank and looking at our incurable PC as we do. I will appreciate any recommendations.
Lots of love
Dafna
PS. It is a year since diagnosis and I am planning to write a post about our life since then.
I don't know if you've seen the separate travel insurance forum but if not you may find some useful information there.
I have used Insurancewith in the past and have recently tested them out for a quote on a Europe trip that I'm planning which does not break the bank (I'm also non curable but treatable following recurrence earlier this year).
I hope you can find something suitable at the right price.
Hello jacobanddafna
Nice to here from you and that you are both well. Here's a link to the forum excavator mentioned:-
Travel insurance forum for cancer patients
I also use Insurancewith for my travel insurance.
Rather than fill in all the online forms - as all Companies tend to use the same algorithms - it's easier to give them a ring for a quote.
I hope you get a decent quote and enjoy a cracking holiday.
Best wishes - Brian.

Good afternoon Dafna,
my OH and I looked at going away earlier in his diagnosis and was quoted £4000 . So no doubt we weren’t meant to get away then . We hope once his RT finishes we will get a reduction in it but we shall see. Just looking now for a break and was looking at hotels in Scotland and the prices are outrageously high ( we live in Scotland ) so going to call insurance with and see what they say as as we could go abroad cheaper than stay at home . Looking forward to reading you next post .
Best Wishes
Liz & OH
Ok Dafna, where are you off to this time after your wonderful Norwegian cruise?
Hello AH,
Are you both well?
Yes it was so good for both of us so we are going at the end of April for a river cruise on the Douro in Portugal. We need the escapism into nature, it is just the right medicine for uplifting the mood and putting the PC on the very back of our minds.
Lots of love
Dafna
Really envious Dafna. This was going to be our next cruise before getting diagnosed. We love Portugal but it is a 2 flight trip each way from us and hubby no longer feels he can cope with that. Go for it!!!.
Things are great here although we have just had 5 days of Mediterranean storms which was desperately needed. The garden is coming back to life and the olives are swelling ready to be picked as soon as it clears up - the Greeks don't do rain.
Dafna, good to hear you are both doing well. The Douro is a beautiful river we did it many years ago. I am sure you will enjoy it and something to look forward to over these grey days. David
