Diagnosed 30/9/2024 Gleason 6(3+3). On AS currently. It doesn’t even feel like I have cancer.! Surreal or what!
My first PSA since diagnosis is on 25/11/2024. My last PSA 13/6/2024 was .6.6. What rise would be a cause for concern?
it doesn’t help when numerous articles online suggest that Gleason 6 may not even be cancer!
Hi Andy and welcome
Yes, it does all feel a bit weird in diagnosis especially if low stats with no issues.
Yes I have read many times about Gleeson ,6 not being cancer , I think it is although some are incredibly slow growing so in effect.........
I was diagnosed in 2013 with a PSa of about 4 which increased to 12 over 4 years and then treatment started.
So ok as long as u don't get large jumps in PSA , Looking at mine suppose averaged increase of about 2.00 a year.to give some guidance
Best wishes
Steve
Hello Andy (Andy B24)
I am a Gleason 9 with an initial PSA of 182 - I didn't think I had cancer until diagnosis - I just felt ill!!
If your PSA on 25 November has risen I would be having a chat with your team.
Gleason 6 in the UK is Cancer end of story - you need to stick to trusted sources for your information such as Macmillan, Prostate Cancer UK and Cancer Research and not Dr Google. Here's a link to how Prostate cancer is staged and graded in the UK at present-
Best wishes - Brian
