It's been around a month since I finished my R/T and am generally feeling fine, I would like to ask if anyone else has found that they can't drink alcohol without waking the next day without a banging headache. I can't seem to have even one beer without suffering the next day, could it be down to the hormone treatment?, any tips or tricks gratefully received.
It is recommended NOT to drink alcohol, fizzy drinks or caffeine as these can irritate the urinary tract.
I do have the occasional alcohol free beer/cider but in the afternoon.

Hi,
Not recommended during radiotherapy I'd heard of, which I did but are you suggesting that not drinking full stop even after treatment is the recommendation of health professionals?
If drinking alcohol disrupts your health, then is it worth continuing to do so. Listen to your body. Everyone is different. You may need to give your body time to heal or adjust to having hormone therapy. I am not a health care professional but you could seek advice from your CSN or radiologist.

Sorry can I just jump in on this for a quick question. that's all the radiotherapy team told me.. no alcohol fizzy drinks or caffeine.. what i didnt ask and its weekend now... is caffeine just re drinks.. there's caffeine in chocolate and many other things... i am hoping they are bowels and drinks are bladder so different rules ? :)
Hi,
I would have thought you'd be ok with chocolate, I think they just warn you off anything that aggrevates your bladder although they do preach a healthy diet.

Radiotherapy can irritate the bladder therefore no caffeine drinks. Don't stop my chocolate ointake or I may get irritated in another way
How's your treatment going, as I recall you were due to start RT on my son's birthday (30th May)?
