  • Hi

I was on Bicalutamide,  to prevent tumour flare, before going on to Prostap. Can't recall exactly how long I was on it, but think it was no more than a couple of weeks. I didn't experience any obvious side effects.

    Regards

    Stuart

    Trying to get fit again!
  • Thanks for your reply after looking into Bicalutamide I do t think it will be an option as keith has heart problems and high blood pressure but will see what they say at next appointment best wishes Maria

  • Hi Mariasusan,

Like Stuart I was put on Bicalutamide for the first 28 days. It increased my blood pressure and my GP put me on Amlodipine to counteract it.

  • I was on Bicaltumide for 5 months waiting for treatment. I wss happy enough as I knew it was keeping me safe while I waited for sugery. The side effects are limited such as slight thickening of the chest. Maybe an extra inch on waist and zero libido. It took 3 months to clear my system after I stopped taking them.

  • Thanks for the info GUP. I was on bicaltumide for 6 weeks before a radical prostatectomy. I didn't notice side effects until 4 weeks  after stopping taking the tablets my breasts by my nipples were tender. I was surprised at the time lag. It's now 9 weeks from stopping and tenderness is decreasing but still evident.  Hopefully it will clear in a few more weeks.
