Catching up Post Surgery

I had robotic surgery last week and have been out from hospital over the few days. The first day following procedure was really painful as I barely slept the night. I am informed that the procedure was successful and await the outcome of pathology report.

I cannot thank enough the clinical team for their professionalism and care during my stay in hospital. I am getting used to having a catheter in and managing the pain as a result of trapped c02 in the abdominal cavity. I am taking each day as it comes and try not to dwell on things I cannot control. It has certainly has been a life changing experience, but could not have done it without the support from others who have the lived in experience.

Proir to surgery my prognosis for nerve sparing was minimal due to underlying issues- diabetes; so did not feel right to ask if that was spared. I guess my priority is to see if my cancer has not spread.
