I have amitriptyline as a back up when the pain is really bad, as you’ve said it spaces you out vet strong, I normally take co codormol, thought and I’m no doctor that sounds like an infection that you would take antibiotics for ?
This often happens and happened to me when I was prescribed amitryptyline to help me sleep through sever back and neck pain. I happened to mention this to a friend of mine who has been taking them for decades and she told me to take my tablets earlier in the evening to avoid this feeling. I just started taking them a half hour earlier every night until I found the time that stopped me feeling like this which was around about 6 pm. You may well be different but it's worth trying.
