I have to say I am not really sure that you would notice with low grade. Both my brother and myself had low grade PC - my brother a gleason score of 6 and myself a gleason score of 7 (3+4) and there was no noticeable effect. We never caught any infections during the time we had the cancer prior to start of treatment and not during treatment either. It is said that having cancer can lower your immune system but probably not as much as chemotherapy does that's for sure. It would also depend on your age, general health and fitness, weight etc and any other illnesses or diseases you may have too. So it is more important than ever to eat healthily and keep yourself fit and at a healthy weight and BMI (though if you are on Hormone Treatment this can be a big challenge) when you have cancer and make sure that you are up to date with all necessary vaccinations such as influenza, pneumonia and of course nowadays Covid 19.
