Hi,
I was just wondering, if anyone during the course of their treatment got or would of liked to get a 2nd opinion from another consultant in regards to their treatment plan/future treatments/prognosis?
My husband was diagnosed with Advance Prostate Cancer last year and although our consultant has been brilliant and treatment is working well it is still something that has been playing on my mind for a while.
Thanks C
Hi C
I had a second opinion from a private hospital and I also changed NHS hospitals twice.
You say that u are happy with your consultant, in my mind there needs to be a reason for a second opinion ie :not happy with treatment offered.
You don't mention the stats and treatment so difficult to comment.
Regards
Steve
Yes I did because I wasn't happy with the treatment offered so had a second opinion via a private consultation at a different hospital and was then moved there onto that consultant's NHS list for slightly different treatment which has worked brilliantly.
What are you not happy with at your current hospital or with your current consultant?
