Hi
I'd be interested in how those of us with bone mets are doing in terms of bone profile measurements. My ALP on diagnosis in July 2021 was 505 and is now down to 196. That seems positive to me but I'd be interested any comparison? I'm taking Firmagon and Enzalutamide with Adcal D3.
Thanks
Arthur
Hi Arthur,
Sorry I can`t give you any info for comparison as I have never heard of ALP. I don`t even know if this is looked at in my monthly blood tests. Maybe it is a post code thing for treatment plans? I will ask the nurse when she takes my bloods on Friday.
Take care, Tom.
Thanks yes. It's the Alkaline Phosphate Test (ALP) and it comes back as part of my monthly blood test. If it is too high it can be a clear indicator of bone deterioration from cancer. It is done as part of bone profile test and liver function test. Worth getting I would have thought for everybody with bone mets.
