Prostate cancer

U don't give any stats or indicate if u have started treatment but I would say if it's a low key affair then it wouldn't cause back problems, just my thoughts

Hi Steve I have not started any treatment as I am in the middle of four months wait after my Turp operation for my MRI scan. I have a low grade cancer of prostate back pain has been a issue for a nearly a year  I have just had a kidney scan and they are all clear. Consultant is refusing to do a bone scan at the moment.

Les, as u probably know back pain is usual when we get older. Could be worth talking with someone else about the condition.

Do u have PSa, Gleeson?

Steve  PSA was 13 on last reading.     Gleeson was 6.

Back pain started when I had a lot of UTI's  and urine tests and Kidney scan ruled the kidneys out.

The area around kidneys is tender. I will be asking for a full back MRI scan when the time come for that scan.

So stats r lowish unlikely to be cause of back pain.

Where is the pain, lower back near hips?

So midway up back,  go to your GP see if he has any ideas or u could try an Osteopath

working with GP at moment that's why we had kidney scan  we are working on trying to get other scans as they cannot find any other problem. I am seeing another consultant next week

By the way I assume the MRI shows the cancer contained within gland. In which case highly unlikely to be in bones especially with your low psa/Gleeson
