Lung metastases

Has anyone else had or know about lung metastases of prostate cancer found at initial diagnosis i.e. before hormone therapy? I know they can be occur in late stage hormone refractory disease but I have lung metastases without any bone or other metastases and before hormone therapy. This seems to be rare.

Hi Pat

Mets from PC can appear in the lungs although the bones are normally the first affected.

What scans have u had to show the Mets? What is the psa, gleeson and what does the MRI show in the prostate area?

Hi Steve

Thanks for that. i had a CT scan which showed multiple small lung metastases. CT, MRI and PSMA PET show no bone metastases or any in the prostate bed. My PSA has risen from 4.3 post prostactomy to most recently 6.9 ng. My Gleeson score was 8 so it is high grade.

As u say Pat, must be a rare situation, what r they proposing now?

Some spots/nodules that show up in the lungs are benign.
