Hi All, so my husband (aged 45) is having his prostate removed as I write this.

His diagnosis was back on the 14th May, we are pleased he is having treatment so soon to hopefully remove all cancer cells from his body.

As we keep saying, by putting his prostate in the bin, hopefully his cancer is in there too.

We are at Guys Hospital in London, mid-way through the op they freeze his prostate to see if anything else has to be done, all feels nerve wracking!

  • Good news Ang

Yes that's the latest thing, freezing it , slicing it under the microscope, in case any other adjustments to be made.

    Hopefully good news all round

  • Hope all goes well.

  • Hi All, the operation went well, they were able to nerve spare and there were clear margins which hopefully means it was contained to the prostate.

My husband was due to be coming home tomorrow but his temperature has spiked so he’s now on antibiotics and monitoring.

The hospital have been quick to act, following a protocol for possible sepsis.

He’s had a chest X-ray and blood tests too.

He is now hopefully coming home on Sunday.

Worrying times, as they say, if it’s not one thing its the other.

  • Hope all goes well for a return home tomorrow.  If not then he is in the right place for treatment and he will be well looked after.

    Look after yourself.

  • Hi Ang,

I hope he got home today and is recovering well.

Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery and today is a gift.
