I am not sure if f I have spelt this right. Someone I know has just had this and I am wondering if any one has any information about side affects etc. Thank you.
Hi MM and welcome.
You don't say if it's high dose brachy or the implanted seeds but I presume the latter.
Side effects are normally short term and can include urinary problems, ED, constipation and some inflammation,/burning issues.
These issues can continue for 6-8 weeks after treatment but possibly longer.
I had external beam RT and physically I was back to normal after a few months, perhaps ED problems took a bit longer.
Regards
Steve
Thank you for replying. He had implanted seeds so I said I would ask for him. I was on the Carers Forum a couple of years ago but sadly my Husband died of Prostate Cancer. He left it too late before seeking help. He had a fear of Doctors and Hospitals which went back to his childhood. Margaret x x
So sorry to hear that Margaret.
